An Online Wagering Glossary
Despite the reality that online betting is now a billion dollar industry, and endless thousands of new gamblers around the world sign up each day to gamble at online gambling dens, there are still millions of new players to the world of internet betting who don’t as yet have a clear comprehension of much of the terminology employed in online gambling, and betting on sports in general. Nonetheless, knowledge of these ideas is indispensable to interpreting the games and policies of betting:
ACTION: Any type of bet.
ALL-IN: In poker, all-in means a gambler has risked all of her chips into the pot. A side pot is developed for the bettors with remaining money.
ALL-UP: To bet on several horses in the same event.
ANTE: A poker term for allocating a specified number of money into the pot just beforeevery hand starts.
BRING-IN: A necessary bet in 7-card stud carried out by the gambler showing the smallest value card.
BUST: You don’t win; As in 21, when a player’s cards exceed a value over twenty-one.
BUY-IN: The the lowest amount of cash required to enter a game or event.
CALL: As in poker, when a bet is the same as a prior made wager.
CHECK: In poker, to remain in the game and not wagering. This is allowed only if no other players wager in that round.
CLOSING A BET: Like in spread wagering, meaning to place a bet on par with but opposite of the opening bet.
COLUMN BET: To wager on one or more of the 3 columns of a roulette game.
COME BET: In craps, the same as a pass-line wager, but carried out after the shooter has achieved their point.
COME-OUT ROLL: A crapshooters first roll to arrive at a point, or the initial toss after a point has been ascertained.
COVERALL: A bingo term, meaning to blanket all the squares on a bingo sheet.
CRAPPING OUT: In craps, to toss a 2, three or 12 is an automatic loss on the come-out toss.
DAILY DOUBLE: To pick the champions of the initial 2 events of the day.
DOWN BET: To wager that the outcome of an action will be lower than the lowest end of the quote on a spread bet, also referred to as a "sell".
DOZEN BET: In roulette, to bet on one or more of three sets of twelve numbers, 1-twelve, etc.
EACH WAY BET: A athletic event gamble, meaning to bet on a group or player to succeed or position in a game.
EVEN MONEY BET: A wager that pays the same value as gambled, ( 1-1 ).
EXACTA: Betting that 2 horses in a match will finish in the exact identical assignment as the wager – also referred to as a " Perfecta ".
FIVE-NUMBER LINE BET: In roulette, a wager carried out on a group of 5 numbers, such as 1-2-3-0, and 00.
