Cambodia Gambling Halls
There is an appealing history to the Cambodia casinos that sit just across the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, where gambling den gambling is banned. Eight gambling dens are based in a relatively small location in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia casinos is in a prime area, a three to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 biggest gaming locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The phenomenal capital gained from the gambling dens ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few limitations requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; although, investment sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 5:00 p.m., and although visas are apparently required to cross, there are means around this, as is real of most borders.
The initial Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving just 1 gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked boat gambling den, features one hundred and fifty slots and sixty gaming tables. The Naga casino is open all hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat banque, 4 tables of blackjack, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.
The original gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in 1999 and the Golden Crown quickly opened. A total of one hundred and fifty slots and 5 table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and sixty eight tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slot machine games and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 96 gaming tables, including 87 baccarat banque (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and 66 of the normal tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and 97 table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive resort and hotel building that contains a number of conveniences in addition to the casino, which contains ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 slots and eighty eight tables.
